Martin Willis - when I wipe away the tears I still smile when I think of you. You were a special, amazing, funny, compassionate, passionate friend to so many people. You leave nothing but warmth and love behind you. We've all been blessed to have had you in our lives and I feel priviidged to have had you as one of my absolute best friends. Thanks for the Chuck Berry CD. I will think of you as I listen to the Blues. We can get drunk on red wine and laugh till we cry on the other side. Good stuff.

I was so saddened by the news of Martin's death, he was the nicest, warmest funniest ,kindest talented man, we studied art and RFTV together , drank beer played darts and talked rubbish, we all moved to London but lost touch ....he popped into my head many times...my heart felt sympathies to his mum and brother....a true gent xxxx

If there's a way for this to reach Dom and Pat.... I loved and admired Martin like I love and admire you both. It's been years since I've seen any of you, but the memories of you all are still rich, uplifting, and in many ways foundational to my being as a young man. pax \ Vann

Such awful news. I could not have wished for a kinder, more generous friend and now I don't have the chance to tell him. He will be sadly missed by many, many people. xx

Martin was one of my clients whilst working at a variety of footage libraries over the years and, upon my moving back to Bristol in 2008, he became more of a friend than a business acquaintance. We would meet for coffee regularly to 'supposedly' discuss the next archive deal when in actual fact we spent most of the time catching up and generally having a laugh. I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and Id like to send my sincerest and deepest condolences to his family. You must be incredibly proud to have had such an amazing son/brother in your life, I know I am just to have had him as a friend. Martin was always smiling and would always greet me with the biggest, warmest hug imaginable and I cant believe that I wont get to continue to have these. A true gentleman who will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him but will be forever in our hearts, Nicole Wilkinson xxx

We worked together in my early career. In recent times I only bumped into Martin once or twice a year. He was a thoroughly nice bloke, always interested to learn what I was up to and he had a great sense of humour. The type of guy people are always happy to see and who left you with a smile on your face. Its very sad and unexpected to hear of his passing. Best wishes to his close friends and family.
