"Mike the can man" I will never forget your endless generosity your witty humour or your kind words. It was an absolute blessing for me to have met such a wonderful man whose words provoked strength when I was stuggling. I will always admire your love for your family how proud you spoke about them. You touched my life like many others, and for that you will be greatly missed x

Without a doubt, the most generous man I ever had the privilege to know. You were always so willing to give but seldom took. Your kind words over the years were always a great comfort. My regards and best wishes to Jane and all the family. I will miss you my friend. Chris A

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jane and family on the sad loss of a dear family friend. Mike we have known you since we were knee high and will always remember you for your brilliant sense of humour, always making people laugh with your jokes and you were such a lovely, friendly, kind person. You were there for us when we lost our own Dad and it gave us such comfort and I'm sure now you both have a lot of catching up to do. Good night and God bless, Nicola, Andrew, & Anna xx

Mike you were a valued client and friend, in fact almost part of the family always with a story to tell with your own brand of humour. Great strength of character in the face of adversity and an example to us all. May you rest in peace.

Dad I have never been the best with words but I have your sense of humour so I'm going to share my thoughts via a poem. To the most amazing man I know I'm proud to call you Dad. Since the day you went away my life has been so sad. But in true Mike Lodge style I will fill this poem with wit. I will turn my frown upside down, no longer a miserable git. We travelled the country far and wide just going with the flow. It didn't matter where we were, we would see someone you know. The first words from anyone's mouth would be Mike tell us a Joke. Dad you would duly oblige because you were such a funny bloke. A life long gashead, the Rovers were your only team. So much like the famous Irene, I will see you in my Dreams. Goodnight Godbless Love Jon, Claire, Ellie, Jacob, Katie, Freya and our little Angel Sophia. One last little thing Dad, look after Sophia for me and give her a massive hug. I will see you both one day.

To the kindest, warm-hearted, most caring person that I will forever be blessed to call, my Father. Although words cannot express how deeply saddened I am today to have lost you so soon, you will live on in my heart and through the wonderful memories that we have shared eternally. You were loved by so many for your brilliant sense of humour, selflessness and for remaining so positive the last two years, you really are an inspiration to us all. I cannot thank you enough Dad for all the support and encouragement you have gave me throughout my life and for always believing in me. I am so proud to be your daughter and hope I too, can forever make you proud. This is not goodbye as I know you will always be around me, especially in my heart and in every decision that I make. So for now good night Dad and God bless. I will love you always xxxx

To the most amazing father, who taught me so much. He was a kind and caring man who had a wonderful sense of humour, which is undoubtedly the reason why he was loved by so many. He always had a smile and a joke or story to brighten everyone's day. My Dad always encouraged me to work hard in life, particularly in my education and always supported me with his warm words of praise. I am so proud to call him my Father and I hope that I will also make him proud of me. Although he is no longer with us, he will live on through the special memories we have shared together and through the love we all have for him. Words cannot describe just how much I will miss him. I will always cherish him in my heart, until I can hold him in my arms again. Rest in peace Dad and God bless you, I love you forever.

Goodbye to a dear old friend, after your illness was diagnosed , we spent hours on the phone on a Saturday putting the world to right and basically talking absolute rubbish. but we achieved our goal, we cheered each other up. You were a stubborn old git, but had a heart of gold, always enquiring how everyone was before looking after yourself. You were the master of a predictable joke yet they were always funny. No one could make a rough old mower look like you managed to do it, a master in your own field. God bless Mike Lodge until we meet again

I will miss you Mike, for your supportive friendship, your wicked sense of humour, and our Reading lunches which had dwindled to two but Jon now swells the ranks to three again. Good friend, you will be so sorely missed.
