Our sincerest condolences to Derek's family on his premature departure from this world. We met him several years ago in Mombasa, Kenya, where we support a local orphanage that he also worked with. We soon learned that Derek had a heart of gold when it came to the children, who loved him greatly. We kept in touch after that, meeting Derek in person in both Kenya and Canada. We will never forget him, and neither will the orphans he cared so much about.
