We met over 20 years ago when we were both starting out and we have been in each others lives ever since; from the birth of your 3 beautiful children, to my wedding , the celebrations of your amazing Nana's 100 birthday to the passing of my dad. - you have been by each others side looking out and supporting each other. I started a new job and I had a lovely lady take me out in my second week and show me what it meant to be a true professional. Watching Kate at a NT property was a sight to behold - she new everyone by their first name and the status of whatever problem they were having. She was a grafter and truly embodied customer service. What grew from the huge professional respect I had for her was a bond of friendship that made us seek each other out. She looked for me when she was in the office and I used any excuse to get out on the road with her. She was so easy to be around and so much fun, I loved a working day where she was involved because it never felt like working. Kate sought me out when she was bored to tears in hospital before Christmas and we had some lovely conversations via messenger, I checked on her to make sure she was released by Christmas because she was desperate to get back to her children (who she talked about all the time and was so proud of). She was interested in what I was doing and in one of our last messages she said I deserved my new job and to be happy. She was still thinking about my happiness, even in hospital when battling covid. But that for me, is the measure of the woman and her amazing selfless character. The world needs more people like Kate and a massive light has been put out now shes no longer with us. I will never forget her, and I hope her family take some comfort from the fact that everyone she met was touched by her generosity of spirit and her absolutely wicked sense of humour.
